Build The Org Chart Before You Need It

Your Staffing Model Should Exist Before the People Do

One of the biggest mistakes I see in Home Health, Hospice, and Home Care is hiring reactively.

The owner gets overwhelmed.
Admissions increase.
Problems start showing up.

Then everyone asks:
"Can we please hire more people?"

The best agencies never ask that question.

They already know.

Even when one person is wearing multiple hats, the positions still exist on the organizational chart. The hiring sequence is defined. The compensation is budgeted. The growth triggers are established.

For example:
*At $2M revenue, an owner may still be acting as HR, recruiter, operations manager, and administrator.
*At $4M revenue, the next hire may already be planned: Intake Coordinator ($60K-$80K).
*At $6M revenue, the next trigger may be a Clinical Manager ($110K-$140K).
*At $8M revenue, Operations Leadership may already be budgeted ($140K-$200K).

The exact numbers vary.

The principle doesn't.

Scalable organizations don't hire based on pain.

They hire based on a plan.

Because growth should trigger a predetermined staffing decision not a staffing crisis.

The position exists before the person exists.

That's how you build a business that scales.

Build the system, don't BE the system.
